STRACHAN, Rev. Robert McLachlan
Went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, October 4. 2022 in the city of Guelph at age 88. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna Jean (nee Walker) in 2019. Loved father of Laurie Matheson (John), Wayne Strachan (Maxine Chapman) and William Strachan (Christine). Dear grandfather of Johnny, Jennifer, Nicholas (Jenna), and Connor. Son of the late Henry and Kayta Strachan. Beloved brother of the late June MacDuff (late William), and the late James Strachan. Loved brother-in-law to Marjorie Bell (late William), Janet Holmes (late James), late Douglas Walker (Elsie), late Bruce Walker, late Ken Walker (Esther). Robert will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Ruddock and staff of Riverside Glen Long Term Care Home – Nichol Neighbourhood for their compassion and care. You helped make Roberts last few years happy ones. Friends were received at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 325 St. George St. West, Fergus, ON for a Celebration of Life service on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 1:00pm. A luncheon and time for visitation happened after the service. Interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens in Oldcastle at a later date. In memory of Robert, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church – Haiti Mission. Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
