STOREY, Robert “Bob” Maxwell

It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Storey announce his peaceful passing on June 23rd, 2026, in his 74th year, with his family by his side at Riverside Glen in Guelph, Ontario. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Kay (Buckles) of Rockwood; his daughters, Cathy (Ken) Keleher of Rockwood, Connie Newman of Sudbury, and Sheila (Jay Williams) Storey of Guelph; his cherished grandchildren, Caleb,Keegan, Brooke, Michaela, Roslyn, Dominic, and Amelia; and his faithful best friend, Buckwheat. Predeceased by his parents, Max and Mary Storey. Bob will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends, and neighbours. Bob was a proud master electrician for over 40 years, but his heart was always on the family farm located just outside of Rockwood, Ontario where he and Kay raised their family. He pushed himself to continue farming for as long as physically possible before officially retiring in 2023 due to his declining health. He took great pride in producing high-quality crops and could often be found working in the fields or in one of the many sheds around the farm. Bob was an active participant in the annual Rockwood Farmers’ Parade of Lights for just over 20 years and was a lifelong member of the Rockwood Presbyterian Church. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riverside Glen for their care and compassion over the past year and a half, and especially during Bob’s final days, as he traded in his ninth life for peace at last. Special thanks are also extended to the medical staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, where Bob courageously battled cancer for many years. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob’s life. Visitation, funeral service, and luncheon arrangements will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario. Details regarding dates and times will be announced through the funeral home. A private family interment will take place at Rockwood Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences, donation information, and service updates may be made through the funeral home’s website. Though Bob’s hands have been laid to rest, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him forever.
