Stokley: Sign bylaw needs to be addressed

Over recent months, Puslinch has received a number of calls regarding its sign bylaw.

Councillor Wayne Stokley said the previous council was aware something needs to be done regarding the existing one.

However, on Oct. 19, Stokley’s questions were more about the process dealing with that bylaw.

He wanted to know if  council would be changing it.

“I know that it could be an extensive process or an expensive one, but I was looking for more input on this,” he said.

Mayor Dennis Lever said the most recent set of calls were more related to the Wellington County bylaw, which affects signs along county roads.

“But we did agree that we would follow up with our own bylaw,” Lever said.

Since council last discussed the matter, it now has a different chief building official.

“I wonder if this could be added to his list of things to do,” Lever said.

He added, “Perhaps he could come forward with some recommendations once he’s had a chance to look at it.”
