STILES, Valerie Elizabeth (Ulmer)
With great sadness in our hearts, Valerie, also known as Val to many, passed peacefully at the age of 62, on June 15th, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener. Reunited with her father in heaven Delbert Ulmer. Val will always be remembered as a loving daughter by her mother Catherine Ulmer, as an incredible mother to Shawn Sayers, Robert Sayers (Vicky), Matthew Sayers, Jonathan Stiles (Sarah), Tyler Stiles (Christina), Brittney Stiles, and Brent Cameron, and as a caring sister to Monica Haertel, Michael Ulmer, Carolyn Hill, Robin Cox (Al). She will live on in the hearts of her 9 grandchildren. Val was passionate in her career as a hairstylist for over 40 years. She enjoyed working with new clients and making friendship with many returning ones. Val was a great listener to her friends and always gave comforting advice. She had a way of making her friends and family feel at home. You could always find her relaxing by the water, knitting as she watched Hell’s Kitchen, or baking her famous carrot cake or cheesecake. Val’s children meant the absolute world to her. She felt as if she was put on this earth to be a fearless mother, and that she was. Val’s big heart and beautiful smile will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 from 11am – 1pm, with a Funeral Service taking place at 1pm in the Funeral Home chapel. Any donations will be given to Val’s grandchildren for their education.
