Stephen Stanley returns in support of Highland Rugby

FERGUS – Toronto musician Stephen Stanley and bandmate Chris Bennett return to Fergus for a concert at the Highland Rugby Club on Oct. 21.

All proceeds will support ongoing development and outreach of Fergus Highland Rugby and help ensure it’s accessible for all.

The singer-songwriter is best known from his many years as a founding member, lead guitarist and vocalist with The Lowest of the Low.

After years of touring and sharing the stage with the likes of Billy Bragg, The Violent Femmes, The Jayhawks and Lloyd Cole, and a gold record for their album Shakespeare My Butt, Stanley now leads his own band, The Stephen Stanley Band and has logged other monumental shows with 54-40, Bob Mould, Cracker, Lee Ann Womak, Jake Clemons and Willie Nile.

The band also played the 2018 Static Roots Festival in Germany, and toured the UK and Ireland.

A new record called Before the Collapse of the Hive is currently being prepped for release.

Harry and Abby from Guelph’s Uncle Harry and the Kickstands will be the opening guests.

The show is at the Fergus Highland Rugby Fieldhouse on Albert Street, and doors open at 7:30 with the concert starting at 8pm.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at ticketscene.ca.
