STEELE, Barbara Jean
Was a caring wife, loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister and friend. She left this world on June 14th, 2022 at the age of 74, after a brave battle with cancer. Barbara is survived by her husband, Ivan, of 54 years. She was a supportive mother of Chris (Marjorie) and Laurie (Rick). A proud grandma of Foster, Mya and Emily. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Dorothy, and her younger brother Michael. Her sisters Betty and Diane will miss her dearly. Barbara enjoyed guiding, gardening and puzzling, and was always up for a girls lunch or shopping trip. She will be remembered for her friendly smile and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. The family would like to thank the VON nurses and her palliative care team for the excellent care of mom. At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, (519) 752-4331. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Brant County SPCA, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Barbara in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
