Smile Cookie Campaign sets new record for Palmerston location

All smiles – Tim Hortons in Palmerston recently presented the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation (PDHF) with a cheque for $11,678 from this year’s Smile Cookie week – a new record for the Palmerston location.

Every dollar of every cookie purchased goes to the fundraising partner, which of course means 11,678 cookies were baked and decorated in the restaurant this year, bringing their cumulative total to $55,715 over the eight years they’ve been in the community.

The foundation thanked Tracey Crumb and Roberta Delaurier, owners of the Palmerston Tim Hortons location, as well as their management and staff, and many students and community members who volunteered their time to decorate all of the cookies. Dale Franklin, front left, development officer with PDHF, noted many Tim Hortons staff members actually donate additional time to baking and decorating cookies during the Smile Cookie Campaign.

“This type of success takes real commitment, and the foundation is very grateful,” said Franklin.
