Skeins for Ukraine fundraiser supported Canadian Red Cross’ Ukraine fund
Skeins for a cause – Hand-dye fibre artist Andrea Gal-Leising of Fergus Yarn Co. teamed up with Miranda Holmes of String Theory Yarn Shop to offer Skeins for Ukraine on March 12, a fundraiser with 100% of proceeds going to the Canadian Red Cross’ Ukraine fund. According to organizers, 100 skeins were sold in person and online. “We didn’t expect such a great turnout from the community,” Gal-Leising said on Saturday. In a social media post following the weekend, Holmes thanked people for their support, stating, “Andrea and I are exhausted, but our hearts are full.” Photos by Jordan Snobelen
