SITTLER, Dorothy
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, September 14, 2026 at WRHN - Midtown at the age of 92 years. Loving wife of the late William Sittler. Beloved mother of Steven (Pamela), Richard (Julene), Debra (John) Boot, Julianne (Raymond) Kruisselbrink, and Tim (Joan). Cherished grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Will be missed by her siblings Ruby Weber, Carol (David) Ringer, Erma Martin, sisters-in-law Delphine, Lucille, Christine, Beatrice Wideman, and special friend Sharon-lee Wideman. Predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth (Diefenbacher), brothers Harold, Clare, James, and Edgar Wideman, brothers-in-law Amsey Weber, Bob Martin, parents-in-law, Josiah and Rachel Sittler, sister-in-law Elizabeth Sittler, and step siblings-in-law Elvina, Josiah, and Henry Metzger. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 25, 2026 at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St. N., St. Jacobs, with a reception to follow. Private family interment will take place in Hawkesville Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed on Dorothy’s tribute page of the funeral home website.
