Singer-songwriter performing hometown stories
Showcasing stories – Musician Peter Yake will be supporting his new album Bridge Outside of Town at Acton Town Hall Centre on June 8, doors opening at 7pm. Submitted photo

ACTON – Local singer-songwriter Peter Yake will be performing June 8 at Heritage Acton Town Hall Centre  in support of his debut independently produced album, Bridge Outside of Town.

For fans of authentic, roots-inspired music, Yake’s songwriting paints hometowns with a nostalgic brush.

Joining him onstage will be a host of other musicians including Don Eady, Bill Mountford, Ken Baker, and Bruce Hopkins. Also showcasing original works will be local musicians Julia Godden and Nolan McGillivray.

Although this is his first independently produced album, Yake says he’s been writing and performing for longer than he wants to remember, from his rock and roll and grunge days of the ’90s, to the laid-back, understated acoustic shows of late.

“Each track on ‘Bridge Outside of Town’ has a story to tell, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share them with an audience.”

Doors open at 7pm with a “pay what you can” admission.
