SHOEMAKER, David James
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David James Shoemaker on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. David passed away peacefully at Palmerston and District Hospital, surrounded by his family, at the age of 68. Beloved son of Helen Shoemaker and the late Lloyd Shoemaker. David will be deeply missed by his siblings Daniel (Gillian), Randy (Robyn), Valerie, and Jeffery (Shari), many nieces and nephews, friend Jennifer Saunders, and son Brandon. Predeceased by his brother Ronald, and sister Catherine. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the teams at Harriston Caressant Care and Palmerston and District Hospital for the kindness and dignity shown to David. Visitation took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 2-5pm at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service was held at 11am on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Bethel Mennonite Church, 6772 8 Line W., Elora. Private family interment will take place in Bethel Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Harriston Caressant Care or Palmerston and District Hospital would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
