Shifting the pain

Dear Editor:

I have a concern responding to a flyer sent out by Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece with the traffic plan to minimize the traffic through Fergus.

The planned route is to direct Highway 6 traffic from the Guelph area through Salem on Wellington Road 7 to Alma and then back on to Wellington Road 17, connecting it back to Highway 6 roughly five kilometres east of our community of 300 citizens.

“You alleviate the pain in Fergus … improve the walkability in downtown” by redirecting the hazard to another town (Alma).

The MPP has it correct. This “pain” by their indifference – has become Alma’s malaise.

Correct it! Or has the government of the day become a dystopian panopticon?
