SHAW, Darlene Jean (nee, Franklin)
of Belwood born on December 23, 1960 passed away on December 26, 2019. Beloved wife of Steven for 35 years. Loving mother of John and Stephanie. Cherished daughter of Lloyd and Shirley Franklin. Darlene will be missed by her siblings; Bill (Anna), Colleen (Ken) Bosomworth, Paul (Dale), Robert (Lori), Andrew (Alicia) and Jeffrey (Cassy), parents-in-law; Elwyn and Lyla Shaw, brother-in-law Dennis Shaw and sister-in-law Susan (David) Bender. Predeceased by sister Diane and infant brother Philip. She will also be missed by her extended family; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Darlene’s life was dedicated to touching many children’s lives through her full teaching career at schools and church. Family and friends visited at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00pm. A Funeral Service was held at St. John’s United Church, 28 Queen St., Belwood on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior to service time. A Spring interment at McKee Cemetery will be held at a later date. Donations in Darlene’s memory may be made to St. Johns United Church, Belwood or to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
