If you’re looking for Innovation Guelph, beware, the regional innovation centre has moved. The business moved to 361 Southgate Drive in Guelph in April.
The ideal addition to this new space is the creation of what Innovation Guelph is calling Workshop@IG. This co-location offering is an option for businesses to start and grow. Many different occupants will share the same space, while saving the high costs associated with traditional office leases.
The co-location environment also encourages collaboration and information sharing among companies.
As one who has worked from home from time to time, both professionally and as a student, this sounds like a great option. We’ve all heard about university incubators but they have strict restrictions on the age of occupants, often supporting university-age entrepreneurs.
It’s refreshing to hear that an organization is stepping up, seeing a need in the community and offering a solution.

Get ready Mapleton, the local chamber of commerce is hosting its first ever Business After 5 event.
This is a great event for a local chamber of commerce. It will get business people together for networking and to learn what is going on in the community.
The Mapleton Chamber of Commerce is partnering with The Sign Depot to offer the event.
Being new to Mapleton Township, The Sign Depot said its staff is looking forward to getting to know the business community. The business recently moved its production facility to 8519 Wellington Road 86. The event is set to take place on June 6 at 5:30pm.
This shows great initiative on the part of The Sign Depot. What better way to directly market to potential customers and get to know the pulse of its new business community? Hats off to The Sign Depot for stepping up.
