SANSOM, Roger Charles
Of Elora, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital, at the age of 87 on December 25th, 2022. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Sansom (2018). He is survived by his son Richard (Carol) Sansom and daughters, Caroline Sansom (Sandy Woods), and Susan Sansom. Roger will be missed by his loving grandchildren; Charlie, Zachary, Eve, and Eon, as well as our extended family, Dave Copeland and Hope Terry. Roger was born in Surrey, England and worked as a Geologist and Soils Engineer for over 40 years. In his earlier days, he worked with SNC Lavalin, residing in Borneo, Brazil, and Guyana. He met Jean Gomes, the love of his life, while working in Guyana. He was an avid fan of football, supporting Charlton Athletic from a very young age. Roger also had a passion for both playing and watching cricket. A special thank-you to the doctors and nurses at Groves Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care and support through this difficult time. Please join us for a gathering to celebrate Roger’s life on January 28th, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus.
