GUELPH – Flat Stanley is coming to the Guelph Little Theatre from Feb. 20 to 23.

Presented by Royal City Musical Productions Inc. (RCMPI), a community theatre company based in Guelph, Music Theatre International’s Flat Stanley, is a family-friendly musical that officials say “promises to captivate audiences with adorable performances, sets, and funny songs everyone will love.”

Travel around the world with Stanley, a 10 year old boy (played by Clover Stewart) who wishes upon a star to do something amazing and finds himself flattened by his bulletin board in the morning.

Making the best of this with the support of his caring family, Stanley decides to travel the world in the mail.

In Paris, he rescues a portrait of Napoleon from a sneaky thief at the Louvre.

In Los Angeles, he gets scouted by a gregarious talent agent (played by Fergus local Payton Adams).

He is then flown to star in a surfing movie in Hawaii as... well... the surfboard.

“Find out how Stanley gets back home, and back to his normal self, by coming out to see this hilarious show,” officials invite.

Based on a beloved book series by author Jeff Brown, this musical adaptation was released in 2009, with the script by Mike Kenny and songs by Julian Butler.

Ana Maria Rajcan, Elora resident and music director for this show, said “It is always an unforgettable experience working with the youth and bringing some levity to our community. They put their hearts and souls into each production and this one is no different.
