ROCKWOOD – The Rockwood FC U17 Girls rep soccer team delivered an impressive performance at the Ernie Henderson Challenge Cup, held Sept. 13 and 14 in Richmond Hill. The squad returned home with silver medals after competing against top-tier teams from across Ontario and Quebec. Rockwood edged out Whitby FC 2-1 in the semi-finals. In the final game, Rockwood played against FC Revolution of St. Eustache, Quebec, in a rematch after a 1-1 draw earlier in the tournament. Despite a determined and spirited effort, Rockwood fell 4–0 to FC Revolution, concluding their weekend campaign with a second-place finish. Coaches Giorgio Pozzobon, Sarah Ongarato, and Mark Attridge praised the team’s resilience and sportsmanship. “We’re incredibly proud of how hard the girls fought,” said Attridge. “They showed heart, teamwork, and class every step of the way.”
