James John ‘Jim’ Richardson of Harriston passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in his 96th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Inez (Grice) Richardson in 2016, and by his parents Robert and Elizabeth (Redpath) Richardson. Father of Patricia & Duane Todd of Okotoks, AB., Brad & Debbie Richardson of Clifford, Barry & Gwen Richardson of Owen Sound, Clarke & Tracy Richardson of Clifford, and Jeff & Leanne Richardson of Barrie. Remembered by his grandchildren Sarah Richardson, Brody & Kelly Todd, Daniel & Kelsey Richardson, Jessilyn & Brett Uhrig, Clancy & Nate St. Dennis, Devon Richardson, Justin & Stef Richardson, Ashley & Aron Rice, Jasmine & Ben Davis, Hailey Richardson, Jake Richardson, and Luke Richardson, and by his great-grandchildren Isabella, Alexandria, and Russell Hummel, Auston, Hadley, and Molly Todd, Briar and Bodhi Richardson, Colton, Cooper and Camille Uhrig, Natalie, Tyco, Levi, Boden, and Baylor St. Dennis, Claire and Caden Richardson, Preston and Cal Rice, and Hudson and Nash Davis. Dear brother-in-law of Laurine Dahms of St. Jacobs, and Clarke Grice of Mississauga. Predeceased by his siblings Helen Mitchell (Borden), Thomas Richardson (Vera), Betty Christie (William), Mary Chilton (Robert), and William Richardson. Masonic Lodge memorial service and Eastern Star memorial service was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 11:00am followed by a private family funeral service. Interment was in Harriston Cemetery. Following the private service, there was time to celebrate and honour Jim’s life with his family at the Harriston Legion on Tuesday, August 25th from 2:30 until 5:30pm.
