MSO Construction has the contract to resurface roughly 12 to 13 kilometres of tar and chip road here.

The contract of $13,950 per kilometre was awarded at council’s June 8 meeting.

MSO will supply all material, equipment, labour, traffic control, and signs for the project.

Some of the gravel sections of the roads where repairs are required will need a double treatment of tar and chip at a cost of $27,900 per kilometre.

MSO is a subsidiary of The Miller Group and has done all of Minto’s resurfacing work, with the exception of one year, since amalgamation.

Public Services Director Norm Fisk explained this is something the town does annually.

“We pick the worst roads and put another surface layer on.” Council accepted Fisk’s recommendation
