‘Reckless’ stupidity

Dear Editor:

As someone who lives near the baseball diamonds at St. David Street South and Albert Street East in Fergus, I have a serious bone to pick with the individual who has been driving their snowmobile through the diamonds around 5 to 6pm.

On several occasions, I have seen this person flying on their snowmobile through the park area designated for the Frank Uttley and Jim Tye Baseball Diamonds.

To put it plainly, it is reckless to the point of utter stupidity to be driving your snowmobile in an area that is used regularly by small children to build snowmen, and where families take their dogs to romp in the snow after a walk through the cemetery.

If you’re going to drive a snowmobile, please go somewhere rural, where there isn’t a chance that you might accidentally drive over a child building a snow fort. This area is unbelievably unsuitable for high-speed motorized winter vehicles.

As a parent of small children and dogs who play in the snow in this area, I simply cannot begin to understand how you think it is appropriate, safe, or acceptable. Do better.
