READ, John Keith
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Groves Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the age of 90. Cherished father of Wendy (Bill) Peletier and Lorraine (Tony) Potts. Proud grandfather of Corey (Rae) Peletier, Amy (Kalin) Clein, Brady (Kendra) Read, Justin (Shanon) Read and Isaiah (Stephanie) Gross. Proud great grandfather to Ayla, Evan and Rowen. John is predeceased by his wife Norma; parents George and Laura Read; sisters Mary (Fred) Hunt, Dorothy (Lloyd) Brown, Verna (Charles) Brown, Laura (Elgan) Brown, Florence (Jack) Kingston, Anna (Ray) Hagarty, Kathleen (Roy) Mountenay and brothers Robert (Gladys) Read, Bill Read and Irvine Read. Survived by sister-in-law Betty Read. John will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. John married Norma in Saskatchewan in July 1958 and moved to Hespeler, Ontario to reunite with Norma’s mother Bertha Micklewright and her sister Lavonne (Robert) Collins-Wright. John worked at Montreal Woolens and then Inglis Appliances until his retirement in 1994. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and time with his family. At John’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Groves Memorial Hospital or a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
