RANDALL, Jean

Jean Randall passed away peacefully on January 22nd at Wellington Terrace, Fergus. She was in her 100th year. After moving to Canada from England in 1982 Jean became a familiar face in the Fergus downtown business area operating Sew ‘N ‘Sew and later, with daughter Avril, The Craft House. On retirement she redirected her energy into volunteering, principally with the Opportunity Shop, raising funds in support of Groves Memorial Hospital. Jean was predeceased by her husband Frank (2018), daughter Avril (2016) and great granddaughter Sydney (2012). She is survived by her children Nanette (Robin), Frank (Teresa), Dawn, and will be fondly remembered by son-in-law Frank Hurst. Jean will be dearly missed by her Grandchildren Cassandra (Michel), Nadia (Joe), Katherine, Richard (Rhonda), Christopher, Lindsey (Sabrina), Amy (Schmiegi) Matthew (Brittany) and Great Grandchildren Alec (Morgan), Landon, Brennan, Whitney and Evan. Cremation has already taken place. There will be a visitation at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David Street South, Fergus) on Tuesday, February 4th from 1:00 – 2:30pm, followed by a private inurnment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society – Waterloo Wellington (https://alzheimer.ca/ww/en). The family would like to thank the staff at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home for the compassion and care shown to Mum over the last 4 years.
