Raleway Festival coming to Palmerston Lions Park June 20
PALMERSTON – All Aboard Palmerston, in partnership with the Palmerston Firefighters’ Association, invites guests to board for “Ales on the Rails” at the fifth annual Raleway Festival with Adam Brown Distilling Company on June 20.
This year’s festival will take place at a new location: the Palmerston Lions Park Pavilion (off Albert Street), situated across the tracks from the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum.
Guests can enjoy an expanded festival experience with new extended hours: from 12 to 6pm. This 19-plus event will feature Ontario craft beer, cider, wine, cocktails and spirits, alongside local food vendors and food trucks.
The site will also include large outdoor games, a new photo booth and railway-themed activities, all set within a lively community atmosphere.
New this year, guests can register in advance for two featured competitions. The corn hole tournament is $20 per team of two, and the Hand Car Races are $50 per team of five.
Both registrations include free festival admission, and prizes will be awarded to winners. Advance registration is required.
These activities are weather dependent, and in the event of cancellation due to weather, registration fees are non-refundable as they include admission.
The beverage vendor line-up has expanded by three new vendors, including Junction 56 Distillery and John Sleeman and Sons, alongside old favourites like Adam Brown Distilling Company and Applebottom Orchards.
Beverages will be available through a token system, with tokens priced at $2.50 each. Tickets are available online allaboardpalmerston.ca, as well as in person at Palmerston Home Hardware, the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum and the Town of Minto administrative office.
Advance admission is $10 until June 12 at noon, after which tickets will be $15 at the gate. Guests may also purchase an optional official Raleway Festival T-shirt while supplies last, sponsored by Wing House Palmerston, for $5.
This year, a speciality Raleway Festival cup will not be for sale, though a limited quantity of past cups may be available for purchase at the gate while supplies last. Plastic cups will be available for free on site.
The event runs rain or shine, and proceeds support the Palmerston Firefighters’ Association and All Aboard Palmerston.
