Members of the Puslinch Lake Conservation Association are looking at the next step in rehabilitating Puslinch Lake.

On March 20, councillor Wayne Stokley  told Puslinch council about his recent attendance at a PLCA meeting.

He said the upcoming meeting on April 18 is going to be crucial for looking at the actual dredging of the lake.

Stokley said, “They are looking at a budget of $240,000 per year for the next five years. For that to happen, they need the support of residents around the lake to develop that.”

He said costs seem to be escalating each time members meet. Stokley said the next meeting will look at moving forward to talk to residents about what payments might happen over the next five years.

“This is an ongoing project and it has been before council a number of times.

“It is reaching a head right now because the applications are now in order with the GRCA and the Ministry of Natural Resources so they can move forward with this.”

Stokley added, “More information will come back to council,” and he noted the April 18 meeting will be crucial in moving forward.
