Councillors here are joining forces with Wellington County to appeal recent MPAC decisions regarding gravel pits.

Following an in-camera meeting on Feb. 15, Puslinch council passed a resolution stating it wishes to appeal decisions of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation with respect to some properties with gravel pits.

Puslinch council noted that Wellington County wishes to assist obtaining legal counsel to appeal these decisions to MPAC.

Puslinch councillors confirmed the appointment of Wellington County to act as the township’s agent to handle the aggregate property appeals and authorized the county to obtain legal counsel for the appeals and  to take all steps necessary to prosecute the aggregate property appeals.

Puslinch also recognized the county would pay all legal fees.

Council quickly endorsed the move.
