Potential trail extensions to Southgate proposed by township's committee

Well­ington North trails in Mount Forest may soon be heading a bit farther north - into Southgate Township.

Members of the trails committee recently met with Well­ington North’s recreation committee about the possibility of extending walking trails into the neighbouring municipality.

Val Corley, of the trails committee, talked of joining the Mount Forest trail with a potential trail in Southgate.

Corley stated some possible trail extensions have been in­vestigated, a preliminary route was mapped, and verbal land­owner permission has been received.

The trail committee asked that a secondary committee be created to coordinate the trail system within the two townships.

Southgate’s representative on Wellington North’s recreation committee was asked to take the information to South­gate council for approval.
