POPP, John

Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 33 years to June Popp (nee Checkley). Loved father of Robert Popp, Stephen Popp, Timothy Popp, Suzanna Popp, John Popp Jr., Regina Popp, Johanna Popp, Kayla Popp and the late Ben Popp. Dear stepfather of Brian (Eva) Doyle and Terry (Cheryl) Doyle. Cherished grandfather of twenty grandchildren, countless great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Loved brother of Joseph, Stephen, Alphonse, Peter and the late Albert. Born in Switzerland, John was an expert horseman and a farmer at heart. He enjoyed landscaping and gardening. Many will remember him from operating the Christmas Tree farm in Nassagaweya for many years. At John’s request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of John Popp in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
