Sometimes it take the deregistration of a plan of subdivision to get some building done.

On Feb. 17, Minto council passed a bylaw to deem parts of a registered plan of subdivision in Clifford as not part of a plan of subdivision.

Clerk Marsha Paley explained the property owner wants to build a house that would sit over two lots in the existing plan of subdivision.

Paley said there are a number of processes available to make that happen, but the option picked was to deregister a portion of the plan of subdivision. The bylaw still needs to go to the county  “and to our lawyer, to deregister the registration.”

She explain the move merges two lots into one to allow the home which would have crossed over the original property boundary. Council passed the bylaw.
