Orangutan event

Dear Editor:

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the community of Fergus and everyone who was at Zehrs June 22 and 23 and donated to International Animal Rescue’s Orangutan Project.

I was so moved by the compassion and generosity, there is such an incredibly warm community spirit in Fergus! So many of you took the time to stop and talk about the plight of the critically endangered orangutan and expressed your deep concern and desire to help. And help you did - together we raised $810 and that will go directly to all the vital work that International Animal Rescue does everyday to rescue, rehabilitate and save these vulnerable animals.

And a very big thank you to Zehrs, who have been so supportive of this very important cause by allowing me to be present at your location. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we put our hearts and minds together.
