After a hard fought battle with cancer, Wade succumbed peacefully on Wednesday, January 20th at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto in his 68th year. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 45 years, Lynette and his sons David and wife Melissa and Jason and wife Michelle. He is also the adored Poppy to his grandchildren, Brodie, Braiden, Jackson and Charlotte who will miss him dearly. Wade is also survived in Newfoundland by his dear mother, Sarah and siblings Betty McCarthy, Carol (Jim) O’Neil, Wendy Hann, Ron, Don (Elaine), David (Darlene) and Clive, as well as, brother and sisters-in-law Vivian (Jack) Slade, Angus (Carole) Milley, Michigan, Shirley (Lloyd) Banfield, Christine (Gerry) Budden and Keith (Bev) Milley. Wade is predeceased by his father Ellis, as well as brothers-in-law Pat McCarthy and Elwyn Hann. Wade has also left a great number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, who will mourn his loss and will miss him. Wade was employed by Canadian Tire Distribution for most of his career, retiring in 2008. He will be remembered by many good friends and neighbours for his good nature, the smile on his face, his laugh and his kind ways. Wade always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, a nice meal, a drive, a cruise, a road trip, travelling to their summer home in Newfoundland and of course reminiscing of days gone by. The family wishes to thank Princess Margaret Hospital for their expert care and compassion during Wades journey. Donations in remembrance of Wade may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto at thepmcf.ca or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and due to Covid-19, there will be no service at this time. Wade will be laid to rest at a later date in his beloved Newfoundland.
