Nominate Ontario’s ‘Tree of the Year’
ELORA – The local Tree Trust has branched out in recent years and now holds a contest for Ontario’s Tree of the Year.
Nominations for the Ontario Tree Pageant are open until Aug. 3 and the winning trees will be announced in September.
Nominations should include:
– a high-quality photo of the tree;
– your name, the tree species if you know it, address or location of the tree; and
– up to 30 words describing why it deserves to win.
Everyone who enters will be considered for one of three prizes: a $100 Lee Valley gift card; a gift basket from the Royal Canadian Yacht Club; and a 2027 family pass to Ontario Parks.
Judges include Judy Maddren, Mike Schreiner, Terry Schwan and Paul Zammit.
