No luck for the Krayishniks on convincing Wellington to rethink its official plan

It doesn’t look like Ned and Lily Krayishnik are getting much support from Wellington County in their bid to have more than one home on their property in Puslinch.

Wellington County planner Mark Paoli recently responded to planner John Ghent who works on behalf of the Krayishnicks.

Paoli noted that Ghent’s letter from Oct. 11 asked that as part of Wellington County’s official plan review process, the county official plan be amended to allow the two dwelling units that currently exist on the Krayishnik property to remain.

Paoli  wrote, “Please be advised that staff do not intend to deal with this matter through the five-year Review Amendment (OPA 81) ...”

“In our opinion, this is a local matter that is best dealt with through the current site-specific Rezoning (P3/2012) and Official Plan Amendment (OP-2012-03) applications.”

As the item reached the Puslinch council table on Dec. 5, Mayor Dennis Lever stated the request is not part of the county’s review process.
