PALMERSTON – Parts of the Palmerston community were affected by a “sizeable” watermain break on Main Street on Sunday evening.

In a Facebook post on March 22, the Town of Minto asked residents of the area to “limit non-essential water use” to help maintain adequate supply and pressure across the system.

“Please avoid activities such as car washing and unnecessary laundry until further notice,” the post stated.

Residents were warned they may experience a fluctuation in water pressure or temporary service interruptions in Palmerston.

Some users expressed concerns about possible contamination of the system, but town officials stated there was none.

The town updated residents at around 8am on March 23 with another post stating the watermain repair was completed.

“Crews worked throughout the night,” the post states.
