Lorraine Audrey (Harbottle) Newson of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in her 95th year. Wife of the late Glen Newson. Mother of Jamie (Laura) of Scotland, Joe (Glenda) of Fergus, Jerry (Joyce) of Cavan, Julia (Carl) Sikma of Listowel, Janice of Listowel, Bonnie (Alan) Klein of Sutherlands River N.S., and Bill of Listowel, and mother-in-Law of Jim Belliveau of Cold Lake, Alberta. Grandmother of 19, great-grandmother of 36. Predeceased by daughters Anne Marie and Joanne, grandson Henry James, parents Alex & Lottie Harbottle, brothers John, Elvin, Lorne Harbottle, and sister Jean Kilbourne. Being born in the Great Depression affected Lorraine’s youth. Choosing to accept God’s Grace in her teen years carried Lorraine through the rest of her life. Lorraine was a blessing to those around her. A funeral service will be held at Listowel Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 2:00pm with visitation one hour prior.
