New play structure opens at Drayton's Rotary Park
Do we have to wait Mom? – That’s what children asked prior to the grand opening of Drayton’s new Rotary Park on July 16. As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations, the Rotary Club of Drayton installed the play structure, thanks to donations from major sponsors and a partnership with the township, where the township has fronted the money and the Rotary Club will pay it back. Eventually there will be a path to the river for a canoe launch and fishing spot, a shade structure, and a lookout at the top of the hill. But for now the kids seemed delighted with the play structure. Rotary president Bob Bignell cuts the ribbon while Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson, Rotary members, and a bunch of children hold the tape.
