Drive-by birthday – With pandemic restrictions spoiling plans for one-year-old Ezra Kooiman’s first birthday party, his parents, Melissa and Jason Kooiman decided to organize a special treat for the youngster. Through social media they invited friends and neighbours to drive by their home in Arthur to help Ezra celebrate on April 4. Ezra’s grandmother, Susan Purchase told the Advertiser Melissa had a birthday event planned before COVID-19 precautions came into effect. “She wanted to have something loving and fun and not have him miss out on his birthday, and something we could participate in as a family,” she noted.
