ELORA – Elora Public School is holding its annual celebration of music, Music Lives@Elora Public School, on Feb. 20.

While it is a fundraiser for the music and drama programs at the school, “it is most importantly about celebrating music and the arts at Elora with our school community. A chance to come together to celebrate and perform,” stated principal Natasha McLaren in an email.

Featured acts at the event include:

Elora’s Lauren Roy and her band;

The New Horizons Band of Guelph;

local rock band the Royal Few;

Elora Public School’s Intermediate Band;

Elora Public School’s School of Rock Ensemble;

Elora Public School’s Dance Crew; and

Elora Public School students.

Doors open at 6pm and the show ends at 9pm.

“This is kind of a big deal for our community and for our students,” said teacher/organizer Scott Keane, adding that this will be the largest crowd that many students have performed for.

Students have prepared posters and pamphlets to promote the event, which will be distributed around town.

Tickets are $12 and are available at the door.
