The Murray Group will get two contracts from Wellington North to pave local roads.
On April 26, council approved bids by the Murray Group to pave portions of Sideroad 5 West and Jones Baseline. Its bids of $70,942 and $38,825 respectively were by far the lowest of the three the township received.
Both, explained works committee chairman Dan Yake, were included in this year’s roads capital budget. He noted that both projects are set for completion by the end of next month.
Council approved the two contracts.
West Nile update
Works committee chairman Dan Yake noted that at the last committee meeting, members talked about the West Nile virus.
He said that again the Health Unit has requested permission to monitor larval breeding sites and to treat with larvicide when appropriate in Wellington North.
Manager of Public Work Gary Williamson reported to the committee that he had responded giving them permission to proceed as in other years.
