Mount Forest sewage plant to accept material from portable toilet company

The new sewage treatment plant in Mount Forest will soon be accepting materials from HFI Services, which operates a portable toilet business.

On Monday, councillors here supported the agreement with the company.

The bylaw sets out the terms for the acceptance of discharge and treatment of the sewage from the portable toilets.

Mayor Mike Broomhead said that discussion has gone back and forth for quite a while.

Portions of the agreement state that access shall be limited to a maximum of 18,000 litres per week, Monday to Sunday inclusive.

The dumping fee is 25 cents per litre and will be billed quarterly by the township.

The agreement relates only to material from portable toilets only.
