Mayor Mike Broomhead said the renovations to the Mount Forest Library seem to be on schedule.

According to Broomhead, work was originally set at $2-million.

“Right now it’s under budget, but there’s been some changes.” He cited the example of stained glass windows being installed in the addition.

“They’re being designed to look like the ones that are already in there,” he said.

He said some work was slowed because of the weather “or whatever reason. I’m certainly not making excuses for anyone, but it hasn’t gone along as quickly as we thought.”

He added all those items were tendered so they still have to come in at their tendered price.

While not directly involved in the project, he said it seems to be coming in on line.

“It’s also looking pretty impressive,” Broomhead said.

He said whoever did the woodwork did an amazing job of matching it to the original.
