Gardening tour - The Mount Forest Horticultural Society had to make some changes to its annual garden tour this year due to a shortage of gardens. Instead of a full-fledged tour, two members opened their gardens for viewing on July 13. Joanne Lucas, right, chats with Judy Cooper in the gardens surrounding her original Ontario stone farmhouse on Line 8, near Kenilworth. The property boasts a circular pollinator garden and pathways by a pond, some young oaks and several garden structures, including a living archway. In the back there is a greenhouse, a large vegetable garden and shaded pergola. Photos by Lynne Turner

Plant sale - There was a plant sale at Collette McTavish’s gardens at 107 Aunt Mary Blvd., just outside of Mount Forest, and Heather Huber and Mary Ellen Wiltshire took the opportunity to buy new plants for their own gardens. They are climbing the stone stairs behind the house, lined by flower gardens.
