Mount Forest bonspiel crowns winners
MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Curling Club hosted its annual Masters/Seniors Bonspiel on March 7.
The 14 participating teams – eight masters and six seniors – came from Alliston, Elmira, Fergus, Arthur, Listowel, Harriston, Shelburne and Mount Forest.
After two eight-end games, the 60-and-over Masters Division was won by the Bryan Knox team from Alliston. The team includes skip Bryan Knox, vice Brian Dallyn, second Don Stevenson and lead Loeland Parliament.
The Murray Townsend team won the 50-and-over Seniors Division.
Townsend was skipped by Murray Townsend, with vice Al Carr, second Doug Rice and lead Phil Meyers.
“A special thanks to the volunteers, A+ Catering for a delicious meal and the sponsors,” officials state.
Sponsors included Teviotdale Truck Stop, Marc Apparel, Independent Auto, Midwestern Co-op, England Funeral Home, and the Tilker Beef Farm.
