MOORE, Peter

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 10, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph at the age of 70 years. Proud father of Chris and Amanda, Jordan and Madeline. Cherished brother of Dianne and Larry Horsburgh. He will be remembered by his nieces and nephews, Cathy, Jeff (Leanne), Greg (Misti), Lisa (Dan), Christie (Jon), Becky (Mike), many great-nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Karen Moore-Ruttan, brother-in-law Vern Hill, as well as the Logel family. Predeceased by his parents Orramill and Ivy Moore, sister Sue Hill, brothers David Moore, and Raymond in infancy. With a stubborn streak and a quick-witted sense of humour, Peter loved to poke fun and make people blush, always using his charm to keep you on your toes. Peter was involved with the South Woolwich Baseball League, dedicating many years of service to the organization. His passion for sports was truly overwhelming; he could recite stats for hockey, baseball, and football off the top of his head at a moment’s notice. Beyond the stats and the field, Peter had a deep-seated love for classic rock music. Following a long career at Home Hardware, he spent his later years delivering The Record. He cherished this role, as it allowed him to maintain his connection with the community of St. Jacobs and Woolwich Township, and enjoy daily interactions with his neighbours. A special thank you to the amazing staff at Caressant Care, Fergus and St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their outstanding and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 1-5pm at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira with words of remembrance at 2pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Liver Canada would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
