Monster Month returns to Centre Wellington

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The wait is over and Monster Month has returned to Centre Wellington.

This month, Centre Wellington will once again transform into a display of Halloween-inspired fun. 

Visitors are invited to wander among the glowing creatures of Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo, while enjoying a month packed with experiences and family-friendly festivities.

From ghost walks and lantern tours to magicians, murder mystery dinners, haunted houses, guided tours and a night in the museum, the lineup of activities grows larger each year. 

In 2025, more than 20 community partners joined together to present dozens of events for every age and interest, officials state in a press release.  

 The Awakening: Oct. 2     

Monster Month officially begins with The Awakening at the yard at the EloraCentre for the Arts. 

“As twilight falls, expect mist, music, light, dance, dramedy and the dramatic release of the Spirit of Monster Month itself!” reads the release.  

“Led by a droll emcee with other-worldly eyes promises a theatrical spectacle of monstrous proportions.”

Guests are encouraged to dress scary, silly, or spectacular to embrace the celebration.

Admission is pay what you can or free.  All donations go to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

Pumpkin Day: Oct. 10

This free family event at the at the Wellington County Museum and Archives features seasonal activities and entertainment for children of all ages. 

Visitors are encouraged to bring cash or food donations to support the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

Monster March: Oct. 17      

“Grab your costumes (and your pets), decorate your wagon and join the community for the Monster March parade,” officials invite.  

Beginning at Moir Street and Geddes at 6:30pm (assembly at 6), this free event is open to all ages.

Highlights include a wicked wagon and costume contests – decorate your wagon or stroller in spooky style to win one of three top prizes; and a food drive – volunteers from The Sparrow’s Nest will collect donations along the route to benefit the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

The march ends with a festive “Mini-Mash” in Bissell Park for participants.
