Minto’s deputy-clerk to become West Perth clerk

On Nov. 14, Minto council accepted, with regret, the resignation of Deputy-Clerk Hazel Soady-Easton.
The resignation was effective Nov. 19.
Soady-Easton is leaving Minto to become the new clerk of the municipality of West Perth in Mitchell.
Mayor David Anderson said that because of the scheduling, that night’s meeting marked the final night Soady-Easton would be at council because of her new job.
“It’s not quite as nice as Minto,  but it’s a good second fiddle,” he joked.
Soady-Easton was employed by the municipality for 11 years, first with the former township of Minto, and later the amalgamated town.
“We will miss you Hazel,” Anderson said.
Soady-Easton said she appreciated council’s support.
