Minto supports septic system assistance
Councillors here support Huron County’s bid to seek financial assistance to maintain rural septic systems.
Minto councillors noted the Huron resolution stated the mandatory septic system maintenance program should proceed as a user pay program.
Further, the county requested that application be made to the province for financial assistance for residential repair or replacement of rural septic systems.
Copies of the resolution were also to be sent to local provincial and federal politicians and conservation authorities.
Minto Mayor David Anderson agreed that rural septage “is quite an issue.”
