PALMERSTON – The Minto Farmers’ Market hosting its annual Strawberry Social on June 21 from 9am to 1pm.
The event will take place at the Palmerston Lions Park Pavilion (just a short stroll across the tracks from its usual location at the Railway Heritage Museum).
This berry-filled celebration will feature homemade strawberry shortcake, topped with delicious local strawberries, live music by youth artist, Ebbony Moroz, and a free, drop-in strawberry-themed painting workshop hosted by NicNac Crafts.
Families can also look forward to free mini train rides, weather permitting.
Coffee and lemonade will be available by donation, generously sponsored by GoWylde Real Estate and Wrighthaven Homes.
To add a splash of colour to the event, anyone who wears red will receive an extra entry into a prize draw.
Local vendors will be in attendance offering fresh produce, meats, cheese, baked goods, and more.
“June 21st is a busy day in Palmerston. We encourage you to come out early to the Minto Farmers’ Market for sweet eats at the Strawberry Social, then head up the path at the Palmerston Lions Park to tour the Minto Makers’ Market which will offer an array of artisan craft vendors,” Minto marketing and community development coordinator Erin Raftis stated in a press release.
“In the afternoon, you can visit the Palmerston Railway Museum for live music and local beer, wine, cider and more at All Aboard Palmerston’s Raleway Festival,” she continued.
