Minto Arts Gallery presents Within the World by students from Norwell high school
HARRISTON – For two weeks in June, the Minto Arts Council is presenting the Norwell District Secondary School student art exhibition Within the World.
In this exhibition, 19 young artists explore their connection to the world around them through themes of family, daily life and what it means to be alive, officials say.
Through their creativity and imagination, these artists invite viewers to see the world through their eyes, they add.
“As you walk through the gallery space, we encourage you to reflect, connect and experience the perspectives shared through their artwork,” Minto Arts Council officials state in a press release.

In this year’s exhibition, students experimented with a variety of mixed media, including acrylic paint, pencil crayons and sculpture.
Each piece demonstrates the artists’ dedication as they worked to express the feelings and ideas they wanted to convey, the release continues.
“As you explore the gallery, we invite you to develop your own interpretations and connections with the artwork. All artworks are created by your local youth and can be purchased to support the up and coming artists in your community.”
The artists’ reception was held on June 4 from 6:30 to 8pm.
The show will run until June 16 at the Minto Arts Gallery on the third floor of the Harriston Library (88 Mill St.).
The gallery hours are Tuesdays from 6 to 8pm, Wednesdays from 2 to 4pm, Thursdays from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, Fridays from 2 to 4pm and Saturdays from 11am to 1pm.
