Minto Arts Gallery presents Retired, Rewired and Inspired
HARRISTON – As autumn arrives, so does a new season at the Minto Arts Gallery.
“October invites us to slow down, explore new perspectives and enjoy the creativity these four artists from our local area,” Minto Arts Gallery officials say in a press release introducing Retired, Rewired and Inspired, a new show in the gallery.
After decades spent grading papers, managing classrooms and guiding young minds, this collective has traded the chalkboard for the canvas. As a group of four retired teachers, their shared journey into art is a natural extension of a lifetime spent exploring, questioning and creating, officials say.
Their backgrounds are rooted in education and their artistic expressions are diverse, spanning various mediums and styles, they add. Yet, they share a common thread: an enduring curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning, the release states.
“Come explore the talents of Laurie Aitken, Janice Benson, Jane Langeraap and Lene MacLean,” officials invite. “Join the artists and Minto Arts members in the gallery at the opening night reception on Oct. 8 from 6:30 to 8pm.
The show will run until Oct. 29 at the Minto Arts Gallery on the third floor of the Harriston Library (88 Mill St.).
Gallery hours are Tuesdays 6 to 8pm, Wednesdays 2 to 4pm, Thursdays 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Fridays 2 to 4pm and Saturdays 11am to 1pm.
