Minto approves 30 water and sewer allocations

Councillors here have approved 30 water/sewer allocations for the ORSI subdivision near TG Minto in Palmerston.

The recommendation came from the Public Works Committee to approve the allocation until 2012. Council discussed the matter briefly on Dec. 16, as Councillor Wayne Martin explained the development property is next to TG?Minto.

He noted a portion of the original property was sold off, but there is still a stretch where potential developers have asked for a continuation of the agreement.

Martin said an agreement needs to be signed to extend that allocation until 2012. Public works has recommended that it be done.

Martin added that there is room within Palmerston’s overall sewage allocation.

Councillor Rick Hembly said if the developer can still lose that designation if there is no action on the proposal by 2012.
